Ok...so our phrase has to be explained...that way if you ever hear our kiddos say it...you will know what they are saying and understand where it comes from. So I will try to give you a few examples and help you understand why the words 'Are you Serious' are so commonly said in 'our world'.
I will just start with Saturday. You just have to understand. First I convinced daddy to spend a day in town (45 minutes from home) with me and the kids...fun right! So we had our plans...take the new truck and drop it off to be thoroughly checked out, go run errands, get daddy's gift, have a DVD player installed...so many things. But WE HAD A PLAN. So we wake early, get all the kids ready and head to town. We arrive at the dealership and can't get through the huge locked gate. Maybe they don't open until 10? So daddy jumps out to check on it...'Are you serious?' The place is closed on Saturday...can you believe it? Me either.
Ok...no problem...let's head to Best Buy...so we all 5 go in and look at DVD players...$$$$'Are you serious?' We can get one at WM for much less...but will they still install it...yes for more $$$. So we head to WM...'Are you serious?' they do not have them at this WM...so we call another one...not there either. OMG...Are you serious?...we are starting to get frustrated.
OK...Let's go get daddy's gift (meanwhile the kids are wanting to go home already) at Michael's. He has a poster that he has wanted to frame...Michael's had custom framing for 60% off...so I take it in and get the order. I come back to the car and say...wow...that was still expensive and I ask daddy what he thought it might cost...he replied with $50...My response...'Are you serious?'...no much more. When I informed him it was $200...his reply (you see where I am going) was 'Are you serious?'...so I went back in, picked up the poster, and canceled the order. Well...Happy Father's Day.
OK...so my errands are not going to well...we take daddy back to Best Buy so he can go ahead and purchase the more expensive DVD player and set up a time when they can install it. Well...nothing is ever simple...once he was there, the store clerk kept adding things we would need for it to work properly 'Are you serious'...$800...forget it. So plans are really not going well. While daddy was playing at the store I had to take 3 kids into a quilt store to find fabric...FUN. So while we were there Big girl comes running out with the other 2 following and in a LOUD voice says...Little Man has POOP in his pants...it stinks...and my response 'Are you serious?' Right now? Can you talk any louder? OMG...what a day.
So finally daddy meets me at the quilt store, no DVD, no Father's Day gift, nothing working out quite right. So he decides just to go home...but he offers to take the kiddos and let me finish shopping! YEAH!
So the rest of the day went fine...and Sunday morning we woke up and started getting ready to head out for our Father's Day get together...and I inform daddy that I really need to discuss some things with him. Most of them didn't get a huge reaction...yeah...whatever...ok...but one discussion got the normal response (you know what I mean). I inform him that if I am going to keep our 'monster' dog...then he and I will be attending behaviour training classes...'Are you serious?'...how much does that cost?
So we finally got to the river and unloaded...and had a blast...Little man loved throwing rocks in the water. But he is not a great aim...he threw a small rock and hit his cousin in the back 'Are you serious?'...please take better aim. And you guessed it...the next rock (much bigger) smacked me right on the back of the head...'ARE YOU SERIOUS?'...that hurt. So let's stop rock throwing.
Anyway...we had a blast...then it was time to go...I said to my sweet girl...time to go...and you guessed it...the reply...'are you serious?' So the day went GREAT...we had so much fun with friends and family. We can't wait to do it again. I put a few pictures at the bottom.
So just a bit more information...we did find a DVD...so again we all went to town tonight. Including our monster dog because we started class tonight. I did have to put him in the shopping cart because he will not walk on a leash, he did great in class, the kids got to eat pizza, and we have a DVD in daddy's new truck.
I guess you could say we have had very eventful few days...and now you understand why our kids will say 'are you serious'. It is so cute when sweet girl says it. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
