Hello all...I hope everyone is doing great. We are awesome! We had a great day today. The weather was wonderful...it is starting to be a bit cooler so we decided to head to the zoo. We haven't seen our good friends in a while so we met up with S and K to have some fun. My little man loved it. We saw all kinds of animals, jumped off the snake, saw the tigers...he had a blast. Just at the end of our trip, we heard a strange noise. Walked up to a cage. What a sight to see. I guess for 'blogging etiquette' we will just say the animals in question needed some privacy! There were several other moms, and one dad...we all had kids...and several were getting snap shots. We did not have a camera...so I can't share the exact details...but let's just say...the zoo may have some tortoise eggs soon! No...I am not making it up...we had a short biology lesson thanks to the Galapagos tortoise. My wonderful...biology loving son...noticed the strange activity and questioned what they were up to. 'Just playing' we replied...and he responded...'He's looking happy'!
Great huh. Kids are so funny!

Spare Time...
Hello everyone...or the 2 or 3 that read the blog...things seem to be going well. Sweet Girl is loving kindergarten and I have already been up once to teach science. I wish that was my job...just to go around to K-3 and teach science. Wouldn't that be a dream come true...
Big Girl is coping with 3rd grade and the TONS of homework her class seems to have. She is learning about planets, made a really cool Saturn model with daddy (A+), learning multiplication (didn't that used to be the end of the 3rd grade for us?), and lots of new spelling words. She is even reading a big kid book in school. It worried me a little at first, but she seems to be doing ok...and she is really paying attention. I have read the book and she is telling me things that I didn't even catch. So I guess she likes it...what can I say...she is her mommy's girl!
So I thought with 2 in school now that I would have some spare time to complete some projects, keep up with my blog, get ahead on my work, and have some time to just read a book...Ha...Ha...My little man is so used to having 'his girls' to play with that I rarely get time to myself. I guess that is ok because this is the first year in quite some time that I have only had one child at home. It is nice to just sit with him. He is so different than the girls always wanting to play Barbies, poly pockets, or make crafts. He just wants to roll a car back and forth...and that makes him happy for about 30 minutes until mommy feels like she is going bonkers from the back and forth direction...then we move to tossing a ball.
Anyway, we are back on a busy schedule...well...I am back on a busy schedule. Trying to fit in time to train for my upcoming 60 mile walk, volunteering at the school, stacking up projects that need to be completed in my 'spare time', and attempting to stay on my organized cleaning schedule. It has worked so far, but looking at the upcoming calendar...WOW. It feels up fast!
We recently had a Labor Day Party with one side of the family and had lots of fun. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
