Yes...we made it back...

I know...it has been several weeks since the last post.  I am sure some of you are wondering if we decided to stay in CO...it was a nice thought.

But we eventually had to make the LONG drive home and realized...it is really hot here.  But the kids were happy to be home.

We were so busy the following week with unpacking, laundry, doctor appointments, dentist appointments, back to school shopping...you know...all that junk you have to do before school starts.  Then, the first week of school hit...wow...the summer just flew by.  Here is a shot of the gang on the first day of school.

And can you believe my sweet baby girl is in Kindergarten...mommy really had a hard time leaving.

We also saw this creepy gal hanging out on the wall of the house when we came home...

For Today

Outside my window...Sunny...very sunny...it even looks hot.

I am thinking...about how time flies during the summer...it never seems like enough time with my kids.

I am thankful for...artistic kids that love to paint, create, color, dance, and tell CRAZY stories.

From the learning rooms...reading chapter books, learning letter sounds, and working on writing.

From the kitchen...Yummy pizza smell from lunch.

I am wearing...shorts, t-shirt, and new running shoes that I am trying to break in.

I am creating...flash cards to take on our trip.

I am going...on a long trip, in a truck, with a hubby and three kids...oh yeah, my head phones and ipod!

I am reading...Ramona and Beezus, Mr. Darcy's daughters, and listening to the Deathly Hallows.

I am hoping...to have a relaxing next week because school starts soon.

I am hearing...music, laughing...and as usual...dogs barking.

Around the house...poly pocket play time, my little man painting, cat lounging...just a pleasant day.

One of my favorite things...getting hugs from my kids.

A few plans for the rest of the week...finish packing, maybe a digi page or two.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Crazy Obsession

OK...so I am out of town...in a town I love...but I have to admit I am obsessed with a creature that you can find in these parts of the state...in your house...even in your bed on occassion.  They are just plain creepy...and they hurt.  My husband laughs at me and tells me I am being rediculus and at this house...they sort of tease me.  But I still use my flashlight to keep an eye out.

So I thought since I was awake...and since I haven't posted in a while...I thought I would go ahead and let you know what is happening...

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...dark...bright moon.
I am thinking...I can't wait for it to be daytime.
I am thankful for...my friends that like when I visit.
I am wearing...jammies...it is 3 a.m.
I am creating...anxiety over fear of scorpions.
I am going...to be sleepy tomorrow.
I am reading...Nightmare Academy by Frank Peritti
I am hoping...not to see a critter!
I am hearing...outside noises, crickets, the fan and ac blowing, and yep...I can even hear snoring.
Around the house...Critters?  Creaks?  Spooky noises?  Flashlight scanning!
One of my favorite things...when my baby says 'I love you Mommy'.
A few plans for the rest of the week: play date with kids, eating lunch out, seeing Eclipse again.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...Yuck...creepy and mean...tell me you wouldn't be a little freaked out...

Saying Goodbye

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...Cloudy right now, seems a bit dreary but that may be because of what has to happen today.

I am thinking...Making the right decision, realizing how hard it is to say bye to a pet, wondering how the girls will feel when they get home.

I am thankful for...Having family and friends, the rain we have had for the yard and garden, and an understanding husband.

From the learning rooms...Not really teaching this week, the girls are at Nana's, but I am learning that time is precious, I am enjoying my time with my son.

From the kitchen...Nothing yet, just can't get motivated.

I am wearing...Jammies.

I am creating...My meal plan for the next week.

I am going...to be sad today, but I hope to go visit a few friends later this week.

I am reading...I just completed a book, so I am not sure yet what I will pick up.

I am hoping...That my decision is right, that Vader will be peaceful and much better off.

I am hearing...My singing with Dora.
Around the house...Cats meowing, dogs barking, Dora singing.

One of my favorite things...Reading a good book.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Taking care of Vader, visiting friends, working in the garden, and maybe I will have time to complete a puzzle.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...I know I have already shared the picture of Vader in the buggy, but I did not include my daughter pushing him around.  Such a wonderful picture and I am sitll not sure how to explain to my precious girls that Vader is not here anymore.  He has been sick for a while and has continued to get worse.  So we are saying goodbye today and eventhough it is 'just a cat', he has been in our family for a while now and it is never easy to say bye.  Looking at this picture reminds me that he had a great life and was loved.

Rain Rain...don't go away!

What a wonderful day to spend curled up with a good book, a cup of coffee, and my favorite blankie!  Well, I can dream can't I?  We have had a pretty good day watching the rain...it is so wonderful to be getting all this rain for the garden.  I am sure I will spend most of next week weeding...While the kids are laying down...I thought I would send out my daybook entry:

Outside my window...dark, rainy, beautiful!

I am thinking...it would be nice to have the time to sit and read a good book with a cup of coffee...but too much going on around here with 3 kids and a sick cat to clean up after.

I am thankful for...a wonderful hubby who let's me have girls night out...even if it means not coming home until 3:30 am!  Yep, I went to the midnight show!

From the learning rooms...still learning ABC's with the kids, and I am trying to learn to digi scrap, finish my work, keep the house clean, and still keep things simple.

From the kitchen...Yummy lime sherbet smoothies!  A special treat after lunch.

I am wearing...ketchup on my shirt and dirt on my socks...but still comfy!

I am creating...quiet, reading time so I can get 10 minutes on the computer.

I am going...scrapping tonight!

I am reading...The Girl who could fly...in my spare time.

I am hoping...to have a few personal prayers answered soon so I can make sure I am on the right path.

I am hearing...white noise!!!  So wonderful...but I am wishing for a tin roof to hear the rain...I miss that!

Around the house...cats locked up, my little man asleep, girls quietly reading, kitchen swept, laundry spinning, waiting for Mammaw and Pappaw to arrive.

One of my favorite things...fresh garden tomatoes...better than candy!

A few plans for the weekend: special visitors, G's house tonight, July 4th party on Sunday and lot's of family.

New Adventure

Ok...I am ready to start something new.  As I work through several bible studies and different readings, I have come to appreciate just the things around me.  I guess it really hit home last night when my sweetheart showed me the rain.  Yes, finally we are getting rain.  I imagined all my veggies and flowers stretching up to praise our Creator for the wonderful drink of water.

So as my kiddos are painting in the family room, I had a few minutes to check a few blogs I try to keep up with and I came across one titled 'the simple women'  http://thesimplewomansdaybook.blogspot.com/

Amazing...with my crazy and very amusing days...how could I simplify my life.  Impossible you think?  Well, maybe for me, but what if I could just take the time to notice things around me.  Be amazed at God's creation...in awe of what he has accomplished in my life.  Still finding the time to laugh at my life, my kids, my hubby, my pets, and my house.  Take the time to remember the grace I have been given and be determined to live life to the fullest.  Spending time with the kids and not quite so worried about what the house looks like.

OK...that was a long way to say...I am going to start 'daybooking'.  Now let me stress that my 'daybooking' may be weekly or monthly...but the idea is the same.  Just to reflect on what is going on, be thankful for what I have, and in ALL things praise Him who created all things.  So here is my first attempt:

Outside my window...Cloudy
I am thinking...the health of my family
I am thankful for...God's grace
From the learning rooms...creative ways to learn letter sounds
From the kitchen...images of homemade salsa and jam
I am wearing...comfy clothes
I am creating...this post and art with kiddos
I am going...to the movies tonight
I am reading...Praying God's will for my life
I am hoping...we get squash and zucchinni again
I am hearing...laugther, barking dogs, singing
Around the house...one kid still painting, one 'talking' to Barbies, one kicking a ball
One of my favorite things...digi scrapping
A few plans for the rest of the week: movie night, swimming, family coming, July 4th party
Sweet shot...
